Winamp
mpc-hc
MPC-HC because I'm not an enormous faggot
mpv for linux/mac and mpc-hc for windows, there is no reason to use anything else.

I use VLC, yet I see a lot of people shitting all over it. Can someone explain why it sucks?
It works fine for me.

These, depending on the OS I am using.

It does adequately many, many things. More than most players. But other players do most of those things better. I keep it as my backup because it is undoubtedly crazy useful, but other players can do certain things better. My biggest beef with VLC is the gray screen when seeking or initially buffering certain types of video.
MPC-HC or Plex if I feel like being a lazy streampleb.

It shits itself trying to play x265 and is prone artifacting more so than other players.

Are the issues this small? The way I have seen people talking about make it seem inherently flawed.
Apologies for pleb question but; Can one player really improve video quality or whatever?
I do notice a difference in the sound level between VLC and the shit Windows movie player, but that seems simply like a change in volume.
No troll I still use Winamp
VLC
