second and third season feel more mature. I remember when near the end of the first season Penguin was threatening to cut the throat of the mafiozi boss and deep down I knew that it will not happen because there have to be blood for that, and show had pg-13 level of violence. Now we have flying heads and self-mutilated fingers. Also they decided to make show more crazy and fun. Plus there are much more kino-shots now, I have death-shot of the girl with infected blood as a wallpaper

How is it unwatchable? They finally went from votw to long story arcs. We are seeing the beginnings of Batman, Catwoman and some back story on Gordon.

Gotham is pure kino. I think most people are put off by the killer of the week shit in season one. Yet these are normally the subhumans who go on to watch garbage like The Flash or Arrow, which is killer of the week shit of an even lower standard than Gotham's first season.

They ditch the killer of the week format beginning with season two. If you dislike season one you should be disliking the killer of the week stuff, what you should be identifying is top tier casting, chemistry between the actors, the great use of colors, lighting, beautiful sets and excellent cinematography. It actually looks and feels like a comic book show. A novel concept when The Flash looks and feels like a low budget soap opera for teenagers. The Flash has a much higher budget but it feels like a low budget, low effort soap opera for children. The actors of Gotham are camping it up without being obnoxious while The Flash actors are constantly pulling the "I'm so quirky and awkward xD" shtick. They don't feel genuine, they're just annoying.

Based Gotham never drags out it's stories either. They keep everything moving at a really brisk pace. I was genuinely surprised when the bomb goes off and Executioner killed Catherine.

Every character has literally lost nuance, the plot is predictable, cliche. Nothing of consequence happens. The kid as bruce is an awful actor and awful choice. There's some good moments but with a lot of bad in between that dissolves any tension the show could ever had.

They made penguin gay for fuck sake.

Really the only sets it reuses are the GCPD, Penguin's house and Barbara's club. Even then the only one we see on a regular basis is the GCPD. We're always visiting colorful new locations every episode.

Gotham is such trash and I love it. The tongue in cheek nature of the show keeps me in it, so different compared to the first episode where they clearly were trying for something more serious.
I hope they follow through with what I think they are and give us a kid Batman. I wanted Gordon to join him too but it looks like he'll keep his badge. Maybe Alfred will join him if he doesnt go at it alone.

I love how they don't hold back on good/classic storylines from the comics. We're only on season 3 and we already have the Joker's face cut off, The court of Owls and Ras Al Ghul soon to be introduced. It's refreshing to see such a fast paced show nowadays when the trend usually leans toward slower narration.
