Will there ever be another sci-fi show as relaxing and comfortable as Star Trek Voyager?
Ive been pretty depressed since i finished tng and ds9 and have nothing to binge watch. I peeped the pilot of voyager but i just cant get into the characters, is there a list of essential episodes that are good?
Voyager is such a fuck up. They took a premise with amazing potential and turned it into a second rate TNG clone.
So to answer your question, yes, it would be more comfy to just watch TNG.

just watch all of it
Watched voyager when it was first on tv, recently watched TNG and was surprised that it was as good as voygaer. I didn't think anything could match it. Considering starting DS9. What's it like lads?
>>83496254
Voyager gets comfy as fuck around season 2. Especially when Janeway starts wearing her hair down and Torres steps up her hotness
>>83496476
The most comfortable sci-fi show
>>83496254
It's pretty shit compared to TNG and DS9. The weakest part is the characters. At times you get glimpses of what they should be, but then they are immediately back to being 1 dimensional garbage the very next episode. Only good character is the Doctor. And he's only good because he's an ass to everyone.

>What's it like lads
CARDASSIA DID NOTHING WRONG
>>83496106
Babylon 5.
>>83496476
DS9 is the comfiest and funnest star trek there is
>>83496254
try Battlestar Galactica the 2004 reboot.
>>83496254
>is there a list of essential episodes that are good?
No. And the show doesn't get decent until season 4 either.
>>83497768
There is some of the best episodes of the show in second season. The 37's, Non Sequitur, Dreadnought and Death Wish with for example. Season cliffhanger Basics is pretty good as well. 3rd season has Flashback, Futures End, Before and After and Distant Origin.
Will they ever make a Star Trek that only uses as much CGI as TNG/DS9/VOY?
>>83498542
Pretty unlikely. TNG was almost pure practical effects and both DS9 and Voyager used a ton practical effects until like half way trough when CGI became main way to make VFX.
>>83498612
Which is sad because the moderate use of CGI made these shows believable and somehow realistic
>>83496476
You're sure about that? I wouldn't want this to get back to Rick.
>You have my word.
Well, the truth is it's an extraordinary series. A real sense of direction and purpose, great sense of humour, warm, comfy. You're sure he's not going to read this?
>Positive
>>83496106
TOS is max comfy. Also, most aesthetic ST series
>>83498798
>it's an O'Brien suffering episode
Post the guide lads
>>83497632
>mfw marathoning on go90 thanks to anon
>>83496254
>>83497738
This is what I was going to recommend too, it's such an incredible journey, and if you didn't fedora out at DS9's ending then you won't for BSG either which is where most of the criticism comes from (despite it being signposted from the miniseries onwards).

>Which is sad because the moderate use of CGI made these shows believable and somehow realistic
One side effect of easy CGI in Star Trek is how star ships were devalued in DS9 towards end. Thanks to effects spam even battle against the Borg in First Contact looks moderate.
>>83498890
You are welcome.
>>83498890
McNulty?
>>83498951
DS9 = B5 = Battlestar
These and The Expanse are the standard for SF. Anything else has to measure up.
>>83499008
Add Farscape.
>>83499054
Shit, yeah. TOS and SG1 too. Who did you watch them with anon? This is important
>>83498954
>McNulty?
Morden is a fictional character in the universe of the science fiction television series Babylon 5, played by Ed Wasser. He is a recurring antagonist in the show.
>>83499008
>DS9 = B5 = Battlestar
For me it is B5 = couple first seasons of BSG = DS9 = last two seasons of BSG.
>>83499054
>Add Farscape.
It was pretty good as well.
>>83499084
>Shit, yeah. TOS and SG1 too.
Firefly is mandatory as well.
>>83499160
I'd rather go with Outlaw Star or LOGTG tebehe. But Firefly is bretty gud. Whedon, for all his faults, knows how to write dialogue.
Also, I liked BSG to the very end
>>83499160
I don't trust anyone who doesn't understand what = means.
>>83499278
Sorry. 5 in the morning and drunk. It kinda complicates using brain.
>>83499369
Wait... are you Romanian?
i will never figure out why she looks so much hotter with her Klingon makeup.
does anyone know?
>>83499536
She's exotic. I've been to Africa and chicks were pining for my white dick. Finding something different yet attainable is hot as fugg :D:D
>>83499590
they probably wanted you to marry them so they can live in a first world country
>>83499733
2nd world since I'm from a decent East Youro Country. They all took me for a Russian so it's not that. People go for exotic stuff.
>>83499404
No. Finn.
Who is the best/most interesting Voyager character?
Neelix?
The Doctor?
Seven of Nine?
Janeway?
Tuvok?
>>83499955
I really like you guys tebehe. Did a 6 month stint in Helsinky. The hyperwar may have done a number on you but you're fun to drink with and have around,
>>83500125
I enjoyed Seven and the Doctors stuff
>>83500125
>Neelix?
Fuck Neelix
>The Doctor?
Yes
>Seven of Nine?
Boring
>Janeway?
Literal Psychopath
>Tuvok?
Sociopath
>>83501408
>Fuck Neelix

Neelix is best boy.
