James Bond might be a fake name but it doesn't matter. He doesn't have to hide his identity, as with all 00 agents. They are selected from orphans, people with no living personal ties. Makes them nearly impossible to manipulate.

Skyfall destroyed that. The codename rationalisation is now broken, and only idiots keep it going.
