Why are Turkish soap operas so long? Every episode is like two

Cheaper to produce one 2-hour show rather than two 1-hour shows. Turkish audience doesn't give a shit about the quality.

Middle-Eastern soap operas can be amusing. Not as many women crying and squealing like in Telenovelas, but the melodrama is entertaining. In Afghanistan there were actual ignorant sheikhs and chiefs and shiiet offering to pay the dowry of a fictional character so she could get married to her love interest.
