How is Logan good? Its lack of story and character is clear to anyone. In fact, it's blatantly obvious they're ramping up the blood to extremes to hide the lack of story. Characters go full retard for no reason (let's all go on a dinner while being on the chase, let's not kill the bad guy who is vulnerable) when the plot demands it and nothing feels satisfying amidst senseless edge.

In contrast, there is Apocalypse who actually builds up its villain well and also the era it takes place in while also neatly bringing back superheroes in different light.

OP, I actually watched XM:A this afternoon and, yeah, I prefer it to No Country for Old Logan.

XM:A was my favorite movie of last year, a big, bold, opulent comic book movie that takes itself serious no matter how crazy and/or stupid things are on the surface. Beautiful cinematography, fantastic FX, good score and it delivered enough earnest drama to feel satisfying.

Fucktards like Zack Snyder or Nolan think they're above this sort of material and run away from it by washing out the cinematography and making everything look fuck ugly and aesthetic dogshit.

So far, GOTG Vol. 2 is the only movie this year that has hit that level and I FUCKING LOVED IT while I can't wait for Thor 3 and Spider-man.

I really wish XM:A had done better because I would have love to see another sequel although I've read that one is already in pre-production and called X-men: Supernova. Was hoping that Singer would come back and give us a big cosmic X-flick!!!FACT!!!

It's literally true. I was more entertained when I watched Apocalypse. It's a simple flick with a straight forward plot, good and juicy action scenes.

While Logan tries to be everything at once.
