Part IV - The Final Chapter and Part II. I consider them to be the creepiest for sure. Part IV Jason is particularly menacing for some reason that I can't quite put my finger on and had some of the best moments of the whole series. Then there's II which nails that camping atmosphere, had my favorite cast of characters and burlap sack Jason.

I wouldn't pick on 8 so much if it wasn't so god damn long. That movie is way too long for what it is. And even though everyone complains so much about how little of it actually takes place in "Manhattan" the movie somehow gets much more boring once they finally arrive there. Jason tyrannically conquering the boat was the best part. Although I guess it was pretty funny when Jason screeched when he got ooze thrown in his face.

No way, it has one of the best casts of the franchise and it captures the creepy campground motif to a tee. It's actually my favorite by far. The makeup effects are great, Betsy Palmer is genuinely creepy, and the final Jason appearance is probably the spookiest scene of all the movies.

I said it was "alright". It's not great, but definitely has its moments. Most all of the movies in the franchise are bad anyway, and other sequels have just as ridiculous plot-related moments.
