Attack on Titan and Full Metal Alchemist should get western adaptations too imo. As long as they stick close to the source material. It irks me to no end that the actors in those are Asian, when they're clearly meant to be European.

The Trunks OVA of DBZ would also make a good film. Imo, it's the only DBZ material that translates well into cinema. And being as grimdark as it is, it's just the sorta shit Hollywood would love.

I think a relatively easy series to make a live action adaptation with, consisting very much of a European majority cast (I suspect they'll try to throw in some minorities that never appeared in the manga and anime, in order to satisfy a quota or push a diversity agenda), is The Rose of Versailles. This series takes place during the late 18th century in France, leading up to the French Revolution. If we're doing an English language adaptation, instead of French, I think the main character in this series reminds me of Taylor Swift, and a character guide has stated that the protagonist has a very similar body build to her, as well, so that could be accurate casting.

Keit-ai.

Angel Cop is great fun but honestly the OVA more or less fell apart completely once it left the "stop the terrorists" plot for the "evil psychic killers" plot. The thing feels like an unfinished mess by the end, like the animators had one cool fight scene idea but didn't know how to wrap a story around it.

Even though it only had 3 episodes, they at least felt self-contained enough, like you got a satisfying glimpse into a larger story of three crooks fucked into doing suicide missions all the time. Enough to say "I can kinda see how this will all end", even if you want more.

Some OVAs were great at capturing that time-capsule thing, like Mad Bull 34, or Iria Zeiram. Others just leave a sad taste in your mouth because of them being unfinished (like Bubblegum Crisis... what a crime that it had to be "finished" with the lame crap that is Bubblegum Crash).

Two episodes of some really entertaining fighting backed by some almost certainly plagiarized guitar riffs from some western rock band. But they pull the whole "give a sneak peek of the big bad guy only to end" thing.

By the end of the second (and final) episode, I more or less had seen enough, even if I would have enjoyed more time with the characters, the cheesy melodramatic rock music, and the fight scenes. For style and substance, I totally recommend the Devilman OVAs (Rebirth and Siren - forget the shitty 2000s one). What a fantastic time!

I really think an Initial D liveaction with some decent budget would do pretty damn well here.
Hell, they can even westernize the shit out of it, as long as the essence of Initial D (kid races his dad's shitbox against other kids in a rural town while 80's italian dance music plays) is intact. Initial D has a decently large presence amongst western car guys of a certain age already.
