This is funny, because I felt the exact same way.

Watching the original Cosmos on PBS when I was a kid had me gearing up for astronaut training. I worked had all one summer to save up enough money to go to space camp the next year just because of Carl Sagan.

Watching NDT is like watching a celebrity do an infomercial about a new blender. You know they are interested in it and probably use it, but they are still just there because their name was useful for selling the product. NDT is even worse in that he is like a parent trying to hang out with kids and be cool, but really just makes you cringe.

I like him in some of his discussion bits on youtube and earlier on TV, but giving him cosmos made me sad. I wish they had just hired a legit no-name scientist who would speak with a form of passion.

And he did make sure to get in his global warming shit in a very Hollywood fashion. Not as something to be discussed but basically stating we are solely responsible for climate change and our billions year old planet might not ever recover. Fucking ridiculous.
