It's not bad for baby's first scifi but I would stay away for the first couple of weeks. The collection of aliens all trying to work together (or not) was originally a look at the UN but it looks like now it's going to be globalization.
The only win-win is if it's bad it's going to trigger /pol/ and if it's good it's REALLY going to trigger /pol/.

Great comics, but I don't think it will work as movie. Also, Luc Besson's last good movie was Fifth Element, he has probably lost his touch. Fifth Element borrowed a lot from Valerian when it comes to visuals.
