They handled the oversight issue wrong. It makes sense to have countries around the world be wary of the Avengers. It's completely logical for everyone to want some say in how the Avengers act.

But the idea that the Avengers have done a bad job is stupid. "New York...Washington...Sokovia" was retarded. The bomb at the start of CW sort of made sense, but not really.

Thing was, a lot of the issue was optics rather than actual outcomes. To be simplistic, they're like an rogue private fire department that is constantly seen around fires, smashing shit all over the place driving their trucks in, then walking away to leave others pick up the pieces regardless of the state they leave things in. They might be putting out fires but eventually people would start calling bullshit on their methods.
