There are TWO things that need to happen to make something canon.

You see the the reality of how this works is this..so pay fucking attention:

Once a work of art is created it exists APART from its creator for all time. The creator may be the closest thing there is to God in his work but he is not. Because there are rules. UNLESS the universe he creates has no rules like the South Park or Simpsons or some shit.

Also the one that makes the rules is whoever owns the work. So if the creator sold it away that's tough shit for him. Anything he makes from that point on is fan fiction unless the owner says otherwise.

An owner creator does not have unlimited power to say what IS canon but they do have unlimited power to say what is not. If an owner/creator says that something that is contradictory is canon, it is not. It's just bullshit until someone figures it out.

Fassbender's performance carries Prometheud and Covenant brilliantly even if he can't save the movied because the scripts and the rest of the actors (mostly) are shit, and as I said before, Kingdom of heaven is rescued (barely) by Liam Neeson, Eva Green, David Thewlis, Ed Norton, etc. Don't underestimate how an actor's convincing performance can make or break a film. See Orlando Bloom in the same movie.

No director has a perfect record but if a certain director's creative output seems to depend a very great deal on the native talent of the rest of the crew, to the extent that his masterpieces and his flops vary wildly in quality and seem to depend exclusively on the perfect storm of creativity that gathers around him, and he doesn't even seem to be good at picking the people he works with, just lucky, then I will call him a mediocre hack.

I think he just asked Giger to create something ineteresting and weird for the inside of the ship.

You're all stupid. The design is obviously meant to be part of the ship itself. Look at the tubing connections and the video of it being sculpted. Compare this to Gigers artwork... It was just a crazy design meant to look cool that was milked for more because it's all people could ever talk about. The original form was as the "pilot" of a bio ship which is the whole bio mechanical design in general.
