Can't sleep movies general.
I seen on here an "Essential Night Kino" chart, I'm hoping someone can post that for me.
Have to give it to Insomnia as my favorite late night movie.
The slow fraying Al Pacino embodies. The dawn/dusk grey of the bulk of the scenes. Those Robin Williams phone calls.
"Nothing lonelier than not sleeping. Feels like the whole world's deserted."
Only flaw is the ending feels a little tacked on, like there must have been a more satisfying finale they could have done.
Recently watched Out of the Past and it's a solid late night movie. The first third I was really thinking I'd made a mistake putting it on, didn't grab me at all, but after the flashback ends and the real plot kicks off it's solid. The black and white cinematography is just gorgeous, and Kirk Douglas as the smiley villain is perfection.
"My feelings? About ten years ago, I hid them somewhere and haven't been able to find them."

Just gorgeous
In fact, I've only seen Out of the Past and Night of the Hunter so far, but I have a feeling Robert Mitchum is a bit of a go to for late night feels films.

Insomnia is unrionically my favorite Nolan movie.
