Why didn't Harry just avadacavarada Voldemort instead of using weak ass expelliarmous?

Because unlike most great stories, virtue always ALWAYS ends up winning in Harry Potter.

To be fair, using that kind of spells are said to "brake the spirit" of the caster when used.

Iirc Voldy was able to create so many Horcruxes because his soul was completely shattered.
>>
>>82925875
Because it takes time saying that spell. Expelliarmus is can be done without saying it.
Don't ask me why that is.
Also, why didn't they just give liquid luck to Harry and telling him to drink it when he faces Voldy?
>>
Why didn't Harry just avacadavra one of the dullest franchise in the history of movie franchises? Seriously each episode following the boy wizard and his pals from Hogwarts Academy as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.

Perhaps the die was cast when Rowling vetoed the idea of Spielberg directing the series; she made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody?just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for her books. The Harry Potter series might be anti-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-James Bond series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.

>a-at least the books were good though
"No!"
The writing is dreadful; the book was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a character went for a walk, the author wrote instead that the character "stretched his legs."

I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Rowling's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that she has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Harry Potter by the same Stephen King. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Harry Potter at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read Stephen King." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read "Harry Potter" you are, in fact, trained to read Stephen King.

Because he was the true owner of the Elder Wand. He didn't need to Avada Kedavra him because he had the loyalty of a literally unbeatable wand that may or may not have been forged by Death himself.

First time I've lost it at the intro

It's like a soulstealing spell. Don't wanna have Voldemort in your wand.
>>
It was said earlier in the book by Mad Eye that his whole class could cast the killing spell on him at once and he wouldn't get as much as a nose bleed. Now Harry may have been the best in that class but he still was nowhere near adept enough to actually pull off the curse. A year later he hit Bellatrix Lestrange with the Cruciatus curse (said to be in of the same caliber of the Killing curse) which only affected her for a few seconds.

Also he was four fucking teen and genuinely believed he was going to die, and having only known magic even existed for just the last four years, cast the first thing that jumped into his head.

The actual reason is because Liquid Luck doesn't make you invincible or anything like that, its main effect is that it just makes you lucky. Its side effects however are things like extreme overconfidence and severe absentmindedness - using it for something like a sporting match or a multiple choice test would usually be fine (which is why it's severely illegal to do so), but all the luck in the world won't save you if you're fighting Voldemort scatterbrained and overconfident. You'd stand there and scream HEY VOLDY YOU NO-NOSED FAGGOT HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT and he'd Avada Kedavra you and you'd fucking die

Wow its not like its completely retarded they never use liquid luck OR time turners again

There is no way to justify it

The Liquid Luck potion is supposed to be crazy hard to make and to have disastrous side effects if improperly done.

Even Slughorn, who is some old as fuck master potioneer capable of making it only ever drank some twice in his life. Kind of implies that it's not to be fucked around with.
>>
>>82928510
You are just desperately trying to justify a glaring plothole and clearly shit writing

There is no reason to not have everyone working on a luck potion then use one of them when its made, or to use a time turner

All of these explanations you are giving are retcons by rowling to cover up what a hack she is
>>
>>82926651
Bullshit. Harry had no problem using the Cruciatus curse on a couple of occasions. A painless death on Magic-Nazis is never considered while torturing the fuck out of them is?

Its literally right there in the book that introduces the luck potion, it's not a fucking retcon. "Too much of a good thing can be bad for you my boy" or words to that effect. Plus the whole only having drank it twice thing.

Ron also asks about making some and Hermione says that it takes fucking ages and is incredibly complex

Jesus Christ, I get that you have a hateboner for Rowling or Harry Potter, and I get that they're not exactly very good books, but at least accept when your criticism actually doesn't hold water when the very book itself deals with what you said directly
>>
>>82928757
Blame the dumb Brit who wrote it, by the time she got to the last book she was just writing one cliché after another to just finish the series.
>>
>>82928771
Most of what potter does is based on luck "shitty writing" he hardly needs a potion
>>
>>82929072
No arguments from me there. I was just saying that the complaints made about the potion were addressed in the book

Okay, fuck harry. He cant use the killing curse because he's still an amateur wizard. Got it.

WHAT ABOUT THE FUCKING ORDER OF THE PHOENIX GUYS?

Why didn't they just spam avada kedavra to kill the deatheaters? Why didnt the deatheaters spam this spell to kill the children/order? They certainly would have the intent and the expertise. They got buttbasted by kiddy spells until rounding up the group.

Only the killing curse shatters the soul. The cruciatus and imperious curse are just illegal.
>>
>>82932116
>Only the killing curse shatters the soul

Not exactly. Murder generally tears the soul and makes it impure. Which is fucking retarded but what do you expect from a Christcuck like Rowling.
>>
>>82928639
>buy luck potion
>use it to make more
There you go.
>>
>>82930689
more like
>buy gun
>use spell to make it silent
>use spell to make the gun lighter
There you go

People would do it, but is always easier to write about the flying car than writing about a world that has realistically reacted to the invention of the flying car.
>>
>>82932116
>Only the killing curse shatters the soul.

Do you remember Neville's parents? They were tortured so much with the cruciatus curse, they went fucking insane and never recovered in the span of the books. Harry actually meets them in a mental ward.
>>
>>82932615
The Cruciatus shattered THEIR soul, not the caster's. Murder shatters the CASTER's soul.
>>
>>82932679
>killing another person shatters YOUR soul
>torturing them into a state of living hell doesn't

Have you ever heard the expression of "putting them out of their misery"? Sometimes living is worse than death.
>>
>>82932725
As I said Rowling is a retarded Christcuck don't expect me to explain her shit. That's just how it works. They are different curses and have different results.
>>
Why didn't Snape just make a 4th curse that didn't shatter your soul
>>
Why do they live with humans and not on the moon or in the clouds?
