Amara and the Nephilim operate differently.

Amara is the darkness itself. Her powers are more malevolent than God's, and are consumptious, seemingly by nature, which fits since she has to eat souls to "grow". In contrast, God MAKES the souls, since he is the light itself.

Jack is different. He's a nephilim born from a powerful archangel that's loaded with grace. He is a celestial being whose powers are basically similar to God's powers. God himself can fuck with and warp reality itself. He can change his appearance, create creatures and souls and etc. Jack can likely operate on a lesser, but similar level. For all we know, he may not even be in his true form. He could just be simply taking the form of some random man.

We already know beforehand too that a Nephilim birth takes less longer than the normal birth. That already tells us that the thing grows faster than normal anyway.

Which is why I'm arguing that the boy growing this fast is not a big deal. Need I remind you as well that Dean's daughter grew fast as well, yet you can surely say that his daughter is not even as powerful as Cas.

They did a great job with Angels in pre season 6. They did an even a better job with Archangels. There was a real sense of dread, of just how beyond anything else they were. They were badass and great.

Then the rest of the show happened. Angels are like low tier vampires now. Goofy sidekicks.

The only way I can really enjoy Supernatural now is by just considering everything past season 5 basically a different show. This is all just some kind of Doctor Who cheezy spin off that isn't really canon.
