Is that from the new planet of the apes?

70s but that doesn't matter
factually incorrect, but the death of film to digital is quite sad

>the best movies of all time happened in the 90s
Yet the peak of film was 1955~ through 1985~
90s were already apart of the decline of art and the rise of commercialization and franchising.
>>82881784
That can't be true since the best movie of all time came out in 2011.
>>82881784
>90s
That's a strange way of saying the 40s through the 80s.

For you
>>82881784
Funny that you mention this because I've been thinking about how hard it is for me to enjoy most movies made before 2000.

actually movies are better than ever, you just have to pay more attention. if anything, 2003 was the renewal of cinema since it was about then that movies stated properly processing 9/11 and its aftermath. for a literate person, the modern cinematic landscape is a fascinating ideological battleground.
Both music and movies have reached the point where 99% of possibilities have already been realized. There is a limit to human creativity, everything is diminishing returns now. There is only so much you can do.
The Dark Knight (2008) is STILL no. 4 on imdb top 250
the only thing that died in 2003 was you anon.......

I honestly can't believe that people don't notice how profoundly had 9/11 and events after(global financial crisis, wars)shook everything ,and that feels all the way down to movies, games, books, music ,art etc
People in general changed but stuff is fixing itself slowly , but it does.
Main impact was on how much less intellectually demanding stuff become.

Wrong. Commercializing and franchising started in 1977 and the 80s were an awful decade because of it. Late 40s and early 50s were great. 90s saw a revival in art film.

This is kinda truth but, fact is, all you need is critical mass of new people to get jobs that count.
Then new wave starts and everything begins anew.
Also, if you are older 30+, you will notice recycling cycles of movies, ideas etc.
