ITT: Underrated animated kino
>tfw this and The Princess and The Frog were the last 2D Disney movies that got a theatrical release
>Treasure Planet was 15 years ago and The Princess and The Frog 8

>Treasure Planet thread
Guess I will just go ahead and post it

That's a pretty fucking weird obsession, but not as weird as some of the other shit I've seen on this site, i.e floor tile fetish
muh dick
As a kid the black hole and gravity death scenes spooked the fuck out of me
>>82878516
definitely one of my favorite movies.

Treasure Planet and Atlantis: Lost Empire were probably the best animated films of later Disney. Shame they both "flopped," both were kino. Probably too many sexy girls and guns
>>82879608
Those scenes amazed me as a kid, though you were right that they were terrifying.
>>82878553
Ah, I take it this is where the "laughing shoes" image comes from?
>the last 2D Disney movies that got a theatrical release
Nope. Brother Bear, Home on the Range, and Winnie the Pooh all came out after Treasure Planet.and were so bad that it killed 2D forever
>>82880438
Brother Bear was so close to being great though.
>>82880563
i remember liking brother bear desu, but i was a kid at the time, i think around 8
>>82880438
Oh shit what the fuck you're right, I forgot all about those (didn't know about Home on the Range though)
Jim's mom gave me a boner and it's sad that the only real r34 for this movie is fucking furrie garbage
It may not be underrated, but it's definitely not well-known enough.
The Iron Giant is a masterpiece of animation kino.

I genuinely think Brad Bird is up there with Miyazaki, Bluth and Bakshi as one of the best animated movie directors, I mean the guy has yet to make an animation that's below a 9/10.

what about animalympics?
soundtrack never

The opening is honestly one of the best things disney did that decade. The score and animation was incredible. Phil Collins did great music, but it was handled really poorly. Of course, none of that can save you from a god awful script and story.
Flight of Dragons is my absolute favorite.

>nerd ends up with rpg waifu
I like that too. Still no dvd of it yet?
>>82882290
Beautify don't crucify me, yeah
>>82882356
Nope, I still have the VHS for it somewhere.
>>82882230
Mok? I think he was supposed to be Mick Jagger.
>>82880438
Man, only Winnie the Pooh was good.
What the fuck were those other two? Goddamn it. Even Spirit sucked.
this movie is probably shit on rewatch but the villain is cool and the scene where he tosses a magic potion into a well and starts throwing random guys in to create weapon-human hybrid monsters always stuck with me
>>82881691
Go for it, go for it
>>82878516
Oddly enough, they're directed by the same two people.
>>82882489
Huh, some reason I was getting David Bowie vibes from him. Might have taken characteristics from both Bowie and Jagger.
