The magicians from Syfy, I know its syfy but i think its above a majority of the stuff they do, its not hardcore fantasy like Tolkien as its set in a modern world (there is a classical fantasy setting mixed in as the show progresses) theres demons,magic creatures, spell casting, and gods

If you think Warcraft is good then you should like the Clash of the Titans remake and sequel that came out in recent years.

Memory/sorrow/thorn is pretty great, though the writing is a bit crude, I'd recommend it for anyone 10-15 (that's around when I read it), but I'd recommend other shit like black company or saberhagen's sword series or the dark tower series for older people, depending on their background/history (black company seems to hit a lot of vets right in the feels, for instance)

Fun fact about memory/sorrow/thorn, I recently picked up a newer book by the same author and it wasn't like a carbon copy of that series, what in fucks name

WoT is fine. It's overly bloated and shows its age but there are more than a few enjoyable moments in the series and the magic system is one of the better ones out there. Yes the female characters are insufferable but it also makes it better when they get put in their place.

In film, fantasy peaked in the 80s when it was made with a real understanding of the appeal of the genre. Now it's mostly young adult stuff aimed at girls, anti-fantasy like Game of Thrones, or mediocre movies that you've already seen 200 times like King Arthur or whatever Ridley Scott shits out.
