Also the ending, why let someone out if he'll be blocked by everyone, doesn't seem possible to go about in society that way, he'll just be a danger to himself and others.

Great episode otherwise.

The whole episode hinges around yet another impossible tech of an entire sentient human AI locked in a cigarette packet sized capsule, as well as the kind of world that Brooker thinks will exist, where we torture AI to break it, rather than just build it better.

If we had the technology to house the entire living aware consciousness of a human being, then we'd also have the technology to create actual mindless slave AI. And we'd also have laws against torturing these electronic copies, because were not ficking savages.

Not to mention being able to 'reward' the conscious AI with holidays to literally anywhere they like for any amount of time. After their daily routine you could send them to planet porn star for 200 years while you sleep, or let them hunt dinosaurs, or fucking anything.

I fucking hate Brooker. He has the grain of a good idea, and he just encases it in acres of acrid, liquid shit. He's the definition of 'hack'.

You're overthinking it. If we had the ability to create AI like that, we would also have the ability to remove everything but the bare essentials when it comes to performing menial tasks customized to each client.

That's preferable to what you're suggesting, which would slowly morph the AI into a different personality entirely from the client (hunting dinosaurs would do change anyone) and eventually be rendered useless.

Black Mirror stories are fairy tales, plain and simple. They even have simplistic fairy tale morals to them. As long as you accept this, you can enjoy them. The problem is that as soon as you incorporate science and technology into your story, people (like you) will zoom in on perceived issues with the science and technology rather than appreciate the overall mood and themes of the story, etc. - maybe if Black Mirror had been set in a fantasy world like ONCE, or something, you'd have found it easier to appreciate the stories for what they are?
