>>82755258
so this tanked?
>>82755313
yfw "shitskins" and "third worlders" have better taste in film than americans
is ridley finished?
will this halt all the shit hes planning?
will we get a blompkamp alien?
will this make cameron reconsider his ridiculous 5 movie saga of avatar?
>>82755346
so far, yes. it will open in 54 more markets and the US next week. we will know for sure if scott's career is over next sunday.
it's not out yet for me
:(
$42 million opening for an R Rated film is actually good, especially when memes of the galaxy 2 is still playing. Plus there are still countries it hasn't opened in
>>82755372
We don't, we have the same shit taste at the rest of the world, why do you think that the Fast and Furious franchise is so popular here?
>>82755258
It has what looks like an Assassins Creed style kungfu fight between the two Davids, complete with body drops, arm bars and drop kicks and a witty one liner about "I've got updates" BADUM TSHHH!
>I'm not even joking
>>82755420
He doesnt understand that people are sick tired of xenomorphs.
And word of mouth isnt going to help.
>>82755712
>"I've got updates" BADUM TSHHH!
will memes ever be the same again?
>>82755313
4 of those countries are 1st-world..
>>82755948
>He doesnt understand that people are sick tired of xenomorphs.
I think the bigger issue is that he profoundly misunderstands why people hated prometheus so much. I read some interview where scott said people hated prometheus because there were no xenomorphs in it. I've read a fuckton of rants about how bad prometheus is but a "lack of xeno action" was never among the chief complaints. it was generally idiotic, heavy-handed mythic/religious overtones, moronic characters and main bad guys who looked about as scary as a shaved poodle. so with covenant we get more of all the bad crap but with more xenos? sure, audiences will love that... what a fuckwit. also prometheus had a brilliant trailer and people were genuinely excited for scott to return to science fiction filmmaking. we have long since gotten better and realized this emperor has always been naked.
>>82755258
he shouldn't have cut Shaw pooping out xeno eggs from the release, if it's in the extended cut the DVD sales will boom purely from the fetishists alone.
>>82755398
>Blomkkamp
There is no fucking alien 5 script and never was. Pictures on the internet is not a production
>>82755258
Just wait.
USA - $31.7m (+41.26% vs. Prometheus opening)
>>82756124
Bravo anon, Bravo!
Saved!
>>82756124
also Prometheus had some key parts cut to avoid offending soccer moms that would have redeemed a lot of it
>>82755712
>>>r/tv&film
>>82755258
Its almost like the world only wants Disney/Marvel shit...good job guis, keep viraling their shit even here.
And don't forget your hourly RLM thread!
>>82755712
>"I've got updates" BADUM TSHHH!
Now I kinda want to see it
But uh...it didnt' release in a real country yet
>>82758176
>jesus was an engineer guize xD
the original script told a much better story regarding the engineers and humans
>>82755258
Prometheus was shit, not surprised people didn't fall for it this time
>>82755258
>the whiter the country, the bigger the drop
Really makes you think
>>82758387
Prometheus' first script, Engineers was better. We wanted More engineers. The only problem was the humans were a shit. The two main characters, Shaw and her Chad was fine, as was the Pilot and Weyland's daughter Vickers, that was all fine, even David was fine. But they got stuck on people we don't give a shit about. Prometheus was a lost opportunity yes, but no one wanted Xeno run for your life it's a tall black nigger in a rubber suit.
>>82757780
PROMETHEUS made $51,050,101 opening weekend in the US so your prediction of $31.7m would actually be in line with the drops COVENANT experienced this week in some countries.
>>82759627
so burgers are going to reverse the trend?
>>82755313
Do Americans actually think that Spain and Italy are shitskin? They're some of the greatest civilizations on the planet.
>>82759882
That's a 53% true statement
>>82755258
What do you know, turns out people don't actually want to see one more remake of same old shit. Prometheus at least was pretty original.
>>82758276
you sound upset
is there a pirate out yet i aint paying for this

Yo! Wassup, my fellow Spaniards!
>>82755258
Gonna wait a few months and download.
I don't give money to filthy jews.
Marketing for Ayylmao Covenant feels really fucking lousy to me.
Prometheus had better marketing, it told us who the main characters are and what they're doing.
Covenant is straight up "THERE'S A XENOMORPH AND IT'S GONNA KILL PEOPLE!"
>>82755420
not good, I want more shitty alien films to be released, will watch alien covenant next week 10 times to support a shitty sequel, can the series get any funnier? whats next, people on wheelchairs fighting aliens on another planet?
>leaving out the increases in China (second biggest film market in the world) and Korea to prove your point
>>82759901
>Wahhh muricans are ignorant
I bet you are extremely ignorant about countries lile Brazil too
>>82762126
>THERE'S A XENOMORPH AND IT'S GONNA KILL PEOPLE!"
But that is what people want
>>82755948
People cry because in Prometheus don't have Xenomorphs, now people cry because in Covenant have a Xenomorph.
People are a bunch of assholes that don't know what the fuck wants!
>>82762281
*like
>>82762328
This tbqh. Covenant was great, 3rd best after Alien and Aliens IMO.
>>82762126
>>82762304
And it's a fucking sham.
The Xenomorph is in the movie for about five minutes.
It isn't smart and all the predetermined rules about it's existence are thrown out the window.
Here is Alien: Conjob
> 1 hour of needless clunky character development
> 10 minutes of "Aliens"
> 1 hour of Prometheus 2
> 5 Minutes of "Alien"
It sucks, do not pay to see it.
>>82755948
This. The formula is team gets killed, lone woman survivor ( haven't seen covenant).
>>82762126
>THERE'S A XENOMORPH AND IT'S GONNA KILL PEOPLE!
No shit, in the previous movies the Xenomorphs are nice and talk with people about the life drinking tea and eating cookies.
>>82762281
>>Wahhh muricans are ignorant

hopefully this will finally show that the nostalgia boom is dead.
Anyone else regretted shit-talking Prometheus when it turns out that it's much better than this latest abomination?
>>82763675
I only regret that it wasn't enough to kill their prequel plans.
>>82763675
>Download Prometheus
>Edit in the alternate scenes
>Burn it onto a disc
>Place it on the shelf right next to Alien and Aliens
>Watch all three on a rainy day while pretending Covenant doesn't exist
>mfw
Alien 3 just keeps getting better and better.
>>82759535
My sides
>>82758176
>Ridley Scott's directors cut will fix the issues, I swear!
I'm sick if hearing this about all his movies. Directors cuts can only redeem so much and they don't make the movie stop feint dogshit for years before its quietly released.
I enjoyed Covenant. My main issue with the film is that it starts being a bit too slow and the final act is a bit too quick.
>>82755420
I'm not against continuing the Alien franchise but for God's sake without Scott.
>>82756001
lolno they're all third world countries senpai
>>82760053
looks just like America
>>82763675
Prometheus will always be Prometheus. A ridiculous story with simple, stupid characters and all around terrible writing.
>>82759901
Sadly yes. Most americans I've found doesn't think that Antonio Banderas is white. As a spanish guy from Barcelona lived in the US for a while I would constantly be called a hispanic and a latino. I have black hair and blue eyes and white skin for fuck sake.
>>82756766
This is a thing?
