Prometheus is for people who have graduated university, it needs a certain intellect to fully appreciate it. That's why I never understood the love for Alien, it was always so low-brow. The mindless, unwashed masses furrowing their brows at Ash's expositions, gawking in shock at the so predictable chestburster scene. Winking and grinning at each other when Ripley puts on the space suit. Plebs act like vanguards for a franchise that was always severely overrated and frankly dumb, that's why they hate Prometheus with such a passion, because they're plebs and don't want to think, they want to be mindlessly entertained.
