As a fan of King Arthur story, I was interested in watching this movie. Watched the trailer which was a bit cringy but okay until one scene where it showed a black man.

I was a little confused at first why there is a black man in the King Arthur story so I decided to look it up and it turns out that black man is Bedivere, I had to double take to make sure I wasn't mistaking something but it was true, they made Bedivere a black man.

That final fight scene when he is teleported to that circular altar and Vortigern delivers one line before they just start fighting was great. Felt like the final boss fight of a game where they put in barely any dialogue because they know its gonna take a bunch of tries.

He is just an actor, none of the reviews have had anything bad to say about the actors, it's the direction that gets slammed.

If anything, Hunnam and always based Jude Law is the little saving grace this movie has.

Guy Ritchie will probably never direct a big budget movie again, it's not as if Man from U.N.C.L.E did well either.

I'm guessing Ritchie's 'Aladdin' movie project will be put on hold, and than the planned 'Sherlock Holmes 3' will be dropped or tied to a different director.

Pretty much what I said, in some myths the sword is just that, it has no special name, it's later on Arthur gets into a fight with a knight and it gets broken but before he can smite Arthur Merlin casts a sleep spell on him and tells Arthur not to to kill him, then the two of them go to the lake and recover Excalibur from there.

one part of the myth very few movies cover is when Merlin asks Arthur which is more valuable, the sword or the scabbard and Arthur chooses the sword, Merlin shaking his head saying that had he chosen the scabbard he would never bleed from any wound no matter how grievous, yet choosing the sword he will never lose a battle.

Surely it's more important for a king to never lose a battle than to lose some but never bleed from them.

Why would he shake his head to that? What good is a king that cannot lead an army to victory? Worse yet, what is the point of one that has the gall to send men in to die for him knowing full when he will not shed blood that day on that battlefield.

Would've been better if they didn't title it "King Arthur". Does anybody even know who the fuck King Arthur was in history? And it was so long ago in a pretty boring time period.

Gut reaction from the masses is 'eh whatever'. They lost tens of millions on the title alone. If they gave it an exciting name like, "Glory" or "For Honor" or something it would've made a lot more.

The actor does piss me off though with that fake cocksure attitude.

I saw a rough cut in January and I really liked the way Guy Ritchie handled Arthur's bisexuality. I'm by no means a gay rights sjw or anything, but having that present in the movie really adds tension to the scenes with Jude Law, especially the bathing scene(s).
