he wanted to make a smart and funny show, one that interviewed more CEOs like Elon Musk, Tim Cook.... but ratings were down... so he had to revert back to the Colbert Report basically
who cares
late night has no prestige anymore anyway
all the same crap on TV

Trump's administration is a reality television show.
To not make fun of it and call out the endless hypocrisy would be a fools errand. The material is literally already created for him. You expect him to sit by and ignore it. You can't go 3 hours without something coming out.

No, he's making something far less original and worse written than Colbert Report.
It's alt-left pablum filtered through the worst of lowest-common-denominator 90's Late Night shit.I used to watch CR nightly, no ragret

This. During the Bush years people like Stewart actually created a new form of cultural discourse and actively influenced the direction of said discourse. They lost all credibility after going to sleep during the Obama years, and now with Trump they're just glorified pundits, repeating the same talking points that the media does so predictably that you can tell word for word what their next "joke" will be.
Trump being such an outlandish target is why they can't win against him or come up with any good material. He's been playing this character his whole career, no one is better than him at getting a rise out of people. It's just preaching to the choir.

Basics of how to salute:
Stand up straight
Head tooking forward, alert
Right arm parallel to the ground
Elbow in line with body
Hand canted down, indexfinger touching glasses if worn(this is the one and only thing he is doing correctly)
Don't smile like a jackass
Someone like stephen colbert would not know, but the salute is an ancient chivalrous tradition.

he played a blowhard for so long he became one (but it is working for him)

That's ridiculous. American politics has always been this way. Daily show has been on since '96 and it's never been short on material.
It's tiresome. There's so much fucking shit going on in American politics besides the president being a reality tv star. Which is ridiculous, but come on. There's constant nonsense and hypocrisy in politics. Literally everyone is lying through there teeth and it's verifiable with even the most cursory research.
More like the smug report.
>try your hardest to get ratings.
>at best you get 2.74 million.
>99% of the country doesn't watch your show.
>in a few years you'll be irrelevant and no one will remember your name.
It's a sad life.

For 250 years the media has always made fun of the president. Except the last 8.

The worst part is that its all designed to be a dog whistle to distract retards and keep them from having to think critically about whats actually happening.

He's a slave to Trump essentially. He has to put on a nightly show about a president that makes his blood boil. The moment he stops is the moment his career ends. It's when you think about it, but at least he has a nice retirement fund.
