Reposting here from /g/ hoping for an answer
My friend just gave me his old panasonic surround sound system. Its the first time i've ever had a surround sound setup, and I've got all the settings to my liking except for one. Theres an option when i hit settings on the remote labeled MAIN + SAP, and i can change it to either that, just MAIN, or just SAP. I can hear a slight difference between them but im not exactly sure what the difference is.

i just figured being a board about tv and movies that a lot of you would be more than likely to have surround sound setups.

i did, the wiki page on it just says its pretty much for television broadcasts to send other sounds along with a broadcast. I dont see how that applies to my surround sound system and why I can hear a difference in the settings when watching a blu ray/playing a game, things that arent tv channel related
