I'm going to watch this movie for the first time tonight while high as fuck, what should I expect?
>>82633644
Honestly it's boring just watch something else
>>82633656
This. You'll likely fall asleep.
People say no shot is ever wasted in that movie but what they don't tell you is that every shot lingers for minutes longer than they should. That movie has no right being 3+ hours long. Its a simple enough story that needed to be tightened up but whatever you can't say anything negative about kurosawa on the internet.

>>82633644
Ignore this retard. >>82633776
If you've never seen any Kurosawa before you might wanna start on something else. Yojimbo is probably his easiest film when it comes to starting out.
>>82633885
Retard because I want to save OP time lol
>>82633644
the easiest sleep you'll ever get. watch ran instead.

Watch it sober, you fucking waste of space.

there is an intermission so if you don't fall asleep then you have a good point to take a smoke break

The best action film ever made
Unironically the pinnacle of cinema. Don't even attempt watching it unless you're well versed in the art of directing.
If Aliens ever come to earth and we had to show them one movie to make them understand what human beings are like, this would be it.

Pure Kino. I feel [/sorry for Kichijiro, was my favourite character]
I find Kurosawa really underwhelming. I've not yet watched Seven Samurai, but his other films have failed to blow me away. Harakiri is my favourite Samurai related movie.
>>82638654
I find his movies very interesting and different, he made films about the aspects of humanity, also, the Japanese way of life. That's why he's awesome for me
>>82638654
Can't all be masterpieces. Though if you didn't find anything good about Kagemusha or Rashomon you're probably ruined.
>>82638714
I found Kagemusha a bit underwhelming, but the Takemaru stuff borke me
good film but not even top 5 kurosawa
>>82638654
Harakiri is probably one of the best films ever, that doesn't say much.
>>82638654
Ikiru is his best imo
