Are there any supernatural horror films that are more mystery than jump scare?
I enjoyed A Dark Song, Banshee Chapter, Mothman Prophecies, and Borderlands; I didn't enjoy Silent Hill as much as I wanted to.

I don't fully understand what you mean by mystery horror. As in there's an unresolved/darker ending?
Borderlands was an exceptional horror movie though, that ending really caught me off guard and I watched A Dark Song only a couple of days ago, slow burner but still very captivating.
Going off that list and my assumption I suppose Sinister has an air of mystery, at least the first one does, second was not as good. And The Others is a classic.
I also have a hard time finding movies in the same vein, I like horror movies that deal with religious themes, heaven vs hell type stuff which is also hard enough to come across, ruling out exorcism movies, of which there are far too many.

I wanted to like sinister so much though it felt a little too plodding for my tastes and one too many jump scares, Will give it a rewatch though because I can't remember much of it

Watched this two days ago, it's okay, but nothing incredibly interesting happens in it. Couple of creepy scenes but nothing that's never been done before. I will give it that creepy ass mask though, that face is fucked up.

I keep forgetting this exists, guess it's time I watched it.
