Ghost In The Shell
what did /tv/ think? I thought it was forgettable shlock, and ironically soulless.
The remake I mean

Don't give a fuck about the characters, but it looked really good from a visual and production standpoint. It's like Tron Legacy in that regard, you just watch it for the cool special effects and ignore everything else.

I didn't like the effects either... Too much hologram bullshittery

top tier visuals.
Characters and themes were barely explored.
Dialogue was so artificial that it adds random people on skype

The original is just a Blade Runner ripoff with drawn tits added for thirteen year old boys to whack off to, and people who value it as adults shouldn't be permitted to vote or breed.
The new movie is exactly ok, with some really nice special effects and action sequences that are then let down by lack of strong characterization or an interesting plot, although I think the scene where Scarlett Johanson goes to her old room and meets her mom was fairly well done
I pretty much feel the same way about the old one too

>although I think the scene where Scarlett Johanson goes to her old room and meets her mom was fairly well done
that struck out to me as the worst
That entire scene was nothing how humans act

It was shit. Nice high-quality props etc. but the movie itself was just bad. As a whole, it's not really unenjoyable or irritating to watch, but it just felt like a boring robocop rehash with art design ripped from the original GITS anime.

most importantly... did it flop? I don't keep track of the websites that keep tracks of this, but I know some of you do, and would like to know
