How do you feel about Ru Paul's drag race /tv/? I think

My favorite show but this season is terrible. 9021Ho was the first good challenge but this season and the girls are largely pretty forgettable.

I like it, it's just a fun show that doesn't take itself too seriously. The drag queens, while admittedly pretty degenerate, are at least aware of their degeneracy but are genuinely skilled and passionate about an activity that they enjoy. It's hard not to respect that sort of passion and commitment to a craft, no matter how weird it is. Furthermore the whole thing is pretty tongue in cheek with the producers and the cast themselves poking fun at themselves and the whole idea of drag in general. It's just a fun little show to enjoy.

I'm a gay, white male and I think the show and drag culture in general is forced on gay communities to pacify and subdue what gay men really are. The more you feminise gay men the less of a threat they are.

Gay men are natural born soldiers. It is their choice task to defend their nation on the front lines. Training all day and cultivating masculinity is the work of a gay man. It is a stoic task because there is no other retribution than to know you have laid down your life for the nation.

When you take away that all you are left is is effeminate rainbow flamers, that want to "turn straight guys" by being twinks or femboys, or sloppy lazy fat guys that are "bears" "wolfs" or "otters".

I might be as autistic as them, but to me all that matters is the preservation of my homeland. And if we still could we gays as the proponents of protection. The first to go when threat arises, the world would be different.

Instead we have men trying to emulate women and idolising femininity.

I haven't watched any since Season 6 I think but I think its very enjoyable. Refreshing to see gay men not take themselves seriously and have the ability to take the piss out of themselves and eachother.
