Now that I'm thinking of it my european friends were mostly other academic autists like myself, I don't think I've even been to parties for more than 12 people while I was in North America and if I had been invited to one I don't think I would go. The host usually buys a shitton of beer and liquor for general use while encouraging people to bring as much of their own as possible, because when he runs out, it's out. Beer couriers who ferry beer for a price are very common for late night parties that have ran dry for this reason.

And no, we rarely use plastic cups for beer. The vast majority of people just buy a crate of bottles and people drink fron them. It's the standard in most student fraternities and bars aimed at young people as well. Probably because Hertog Jan is deemed the best brand and it has a thick bottle which chills really well.

Im from New Zealand and we almost never have keg parties. For my teenage years I would just ask my parents to get me a 12 pack of beer bottles or 6 mixed drinks and take that to wherever I was going. Everyone else pretty much did the same and we would just leave out box of drinks in some corner and grab one whenever necessary. If any got stolen the person who did it would usually get their ass kicked or if one of your mates didn't bring many,
