The conclusion of the movie, is her finally reaching home. Which, as it turns out, is the home of a deceased crew member from the expedition. Apparently, he uploaded his memories into the AI, which she confused for her own. Struggling to reconcile reality with her memories, she has a mental break down shortly before being captured by her pursuers.

She gets strapped into a device, and some scientists supposedly extract the man's memories.
However, it transitions to the man returning home to his family. The audience knows he's dead however, so it must be an AI. Which the family likely doesn't know about. And perhaps, even a piece of the female AI resides in him? It's left up to mystery.

The ending shot, however. Is her body being put in some kind of storage.

I wanted to keep her pursuers nondescript, because the initial idea was to keep her isolated, putting a lot a focus on only her alone in an environment. But then I kept adding pieces that required more people.
I want to maintain the narrow focus on her, by making all the supporting characters as nondescript as possible. Passing the turing test is a nice idea. But I don't want the detective/hunter's opinion to hold much of any weight. Rather, if she was aware of the turing test, then proving to herself that she can pass it, would convince herself that she's not an AI like her pursuers claim. And the fact that she has the memories of the scientist, would be the explanation for why she knows about the turing test.

That's supposed to be the twist btw. Well... Not so much a twist, as it is just a plain reveal. The movie should make the viewer question whether or not she's actually an AI. The reveal that she's an AI happens when she realizes the family she thought was hers, is actually someone else's. And then the thing to take away at the end is: if the dead guy's AI is so convincing, then what real difference is there between man and machine?

And then the reason I end with a shot of Emma, is 1, it's her movie. And 2, It makes you wonder just how much of her is left in the vessel. Because in the previous scene with the male AI, he shows some kind of behavior that tips the audience off that a piece of her resides in him. So you don't really know where she is. In his body? In her own body? Or maybe a bit of both?

Glad you like the turing idea and I could see her being pursued by shadowy entities, it would definitely up the paranoia and fold into her own doubts. It seems you are going for a more conceptual and cinematic movie and I want one a little more formulaic. I think having a hunter character gives the audience someone to identify with as the mc does her stuff, otherwise the reveal is all in her head and i think audiences want more certainty. In my version at the end the doubt is left with the hunter, who is a proxy for the audience. Your ending does jive with the "was it all in my head?" conceptual work in the first two acts, it would take great acting and directing to be great.

But I think when you play an AI, people expect you to play it calm and monotone. People excuse it, because supposedly she's a robot in the story. So any emotion above mono would be beyond expectation, thus more appreciated than normal.
