Yeah, this to me was the film's biggest flaw. I didn't really care about adult Saroo's search all that much because he wasn't really developed as a character much at all outside his relentless determination to find his family and it really came from nowhere. A snack sets him off and suddenly he becomes totally consumed and obsessed by it? Felt like it was just padding out the running time.
