The original Anakin ghost wasn't Prowse, it was Sebastian Shaw. Beyond that, having it be Hayden completely negates the sacrifice that Vader makes. "Return of the Jedi" refers to Anakin, meaning that he is his true self again after he kills Sheev. With that in mind, the ghost represents how he should appear if he never turned to the Dark Side. There's no reason at all for him to be 20 again when Ben and Yoda didn't get to do that.

The real reason he put him in there is continuity with the prequels, there's no actual in-universe meaning that makes any sense.

After Luke escapes him and he's leaving Cloud City, his original line is "Bring my shuttle" in a pissed-off no nonsense tone that doesn't inhibit the pacing in any way.

While speaking at a film school between ANH and ESB, before Lucas even came up with the idea, Prowse made a joking comment about Vader being Luke's father. The single thing that tempts me to watch the blu-ray over the despecialized edition of Return of the Jedi (which got the worst of the stupid edits, fucking turned an 8/10 movie into a 5/10 one) is Victory Celebration. Yub Nub is stupid by itself, but as the music for the climax to the trilogy? Fucking hell. Victory Celebration is much more fitting. I think even Gary Kurtz has said it's the worst change in the special edition because when they originally filmed the scene and couldn't get it to work they just took the important lines of dialogue and put them in the Greedo scene, so in the SE the film is repeating the same information we just learned for no reason. Furthermore, Boba Fett's cool ass armor and minimal screen time/dialogue is what made him interesting and what created his fanbase. You assume his look is unique, like he created the armor himself from bits and pieces and marked it with Mandalorian symbols or some shit. Then you play KOTOR and it doesn't invalidate or confirm any of that, it just makes him more interesting.
