To be fair, Prison Break's second season was solid too.... when they were all on the run.

After that it jumped the shark and became a retarded A-Team shtick.

I can't fathom how they've rebooted it and are making another season. That show fell apart worst than Lost.... but it did start pretty strong.

Majority of blacklists episodes, decent ones came way after the first season. Season 2/3 and some of 4 have had best episodes, season 1 is basically a police procedural.

Also my vote is for Dexter, season 1 encapsulated character perfectly, was best adapted of the books and had least OC storywise.

not sure what happened after season 4, the writers decided having a million irrelevant subplots that go nowhere was a more effective strategy then the well-paced main narritives of S1, S2, and S4 (even S3 was ok, but had some subplot issues)

Came in to say this, though season 2 was nearly as great. 3 was fucked by the Writer's Strike, and 4 was a pretty strong return to form. They then changed out the writers and producer for 5, which while slow was still decent. 6 tried to redo the Trinity Killer from 4, but it was fucking awful. 7 had a fantastic villain, and the first half of 8 was good except they busted their nut too early and we were left with 6 episodes of tacked on garbage to end the series. Every season had flaws, but they certainly became more and more glaring as the series continued.

And honestly, the main reason I watched Prison Break (and did genuinely like 2 seasons) was T Bags. The man was an amazing villain.

It's amazing that a character is so good you grow to love a serial rapists and prison rapist.....

I liked how despite his Southern deep south accent, he actually was very cold and calculating.... and later revealed to be he was a genius but getting molested by his dad fucked up up severely.

I've never seen a show with such a linear decline in quality than Prison Break. Season one was great and pretty tightly written. Season two introduced some interesting elements and was still decent. Then the writer's strike happened during S3, which explains the drastic decrease in quality. Season four is garbage that they had to write just to conclude the story.

Amen to everything you just said. The tragedy of having a show that's amazing for a few season and turns into garbage, is the good seasons never get the respect they properly deserve. Lost, Boardwalk Empire, Prison Break, etc.

I think they didn't expect Lost or Prison Break to keep getting renewed so they had absolutely no idea what to do with it past a couple of seasons.

That or maybe the writers changed completely.

I'm not sure what happened.... but I'd rank Prison Break seasons like this

S1- 10/10
S2- 10/10
S3- 7/10 (had it's moments but it felt like it had jumped the shark when they got to Sona).
S4- 4/10 (the only reason I didn't give this a 1 or 2 is because T Bags is such a treat to watch)
The Movie- 4/10 (Only cause of T Bags)

And I have no idea how the new season is but I hear somehow they have a new crew of guys (including Mike Scofield, the only returning cast member) stranded in Yemen and they're trying to escape.

Once this show turned into a retarded A-Team it was beyond saving....

The first season of The Leftover is for people who think Zack Snyder is a genius. Writing every character to be one constant emotional state with no change for ten episodes straight is the epitome of shit storytelling. Endless scenes of animal imagery doesn't cover up sophomoric character writing.

And as it turns out, once you let some humanity and humor into the story and stop treating every second of your storytelling like it's the word of God it suddenly becomes worthwhile.
