I feel like in many ways, the movie has more of a redpilling effect with the theatrical ending.

If they showed him returning to racism, it would give closure to the plot and make it just about the cycle of violence. But having him still be a tolerant loser at the end leaves the audience feeling disgusted with the blacks who killed his brother.
