You're right, society IS overfocused on gender roles but not in the way you're stating. There was a sweet spot between the 70's and 90's when it was widely accepted that men were men and women were women, but you could dress up and express yourself how you like. The modern outlook on gender feels like an emotional response to tradition instead of a celebration of individuality.

Funny how they took a 8 year hiatus.

Sam's show shouldn't have been cancelled but most of it wasn't very funny desu. It's too on the nose and blunt with its messages, a lot of it felt like propaganda and not comedy. As someone who is quite right wing, I felt the same way about a lot of it as i do the blunt left wing propaganda comedy from Amy schumer and the like. The school sketch was funny, he should work more on actual sketches instead of segments clearly designed to put his view of society across, or at least segments which combine comedy with that.
