Good.

Alien 3 was a great end to the Ripley story arc. It had a great depressing, dark tone and unhappy ending that fit with the narrative of the series. Retconning it just cheapens the franchise further.

Blomkamp's Alien 5 was shaping up to be Aliens 2 rather than go in an interesting new direction. I really don't think it would be anywhere near as good as we'd like it to be. It's just not possible anymore. There's just no way you can follow Aliens with a similar film and it be able to carry itself in this day and age.

As much as I really, really fucking hate what Ridley did with the Space Jockeys in Prometheus, at least it's covering new ground. You never know it might be worth it when the rest of the prequels are done.

I have no problem with Resurrection being retconned, but it is set so far in the future that it doesn't really affect any of the others directly.
