What's your favorite camera technique?
Mine's the dolly zoom. How can something so simple put out such a weird effect?
How did they even think to move the camera while zooming out to get this effect?
Pretty impressive desu.

I love Scorsese's technics. Especially when the camera pans around a character really fast. I don't know if that's got a name.
Also shots like these:

Which Scorsese does a lot too.
>>82186216
It was decent, not nearly as bad as a sequel to a 21 year old film could've been. The trailer spoils all the visually interesting parts though, and is borderline misleading with how they cut much of it
>>82186061
Just imagine a movie directed by Kojima and with Dolph Lundgren as the main character.

haha holy shit, thats hilarious. Did they mean to make it look like Jeff was a giant in the sky?

Althought if done well I am quite the fan of the long take, which does not even have to be particularly long if done well, it depends how it sets the pacing.

The first Twilight is unironically a great film. There's one scene where Edward walks into the classroom, and Bella's hair is flowing because of the fan behind her. Edward himself is standing in front of an owl figure, making it seem like he has wings. In a few seconds the tension is brilliant communicated.
I don't know why they got rid of Cathering Hardwicke after the first film. Sexual tension was the undercurrent of every scene
>>82186058

I actually cannot believe what I'm reading right now. You're not actually this retarded, are you?
Anyways, no, magic hour is right when the sun is setting. The colors are orange/red, and there are very smooth and noticeable shadows. And it's especially helpful when it comes to close ups when you want emphasis on colors and shading on facial features that you otherwise wouldn't get when the sun is right above the subject.
>>82191028

not sure if this has a name, but it's pretty slick
I want a movie shot entirely in wide angle with no zooming at all. The only such movie I can think of is Hardcore Henry, which is almost good but there's too much camera movement for low frame rate to handle. Is there anything else with nothing but fixed wide angle shots?
>>82183077
He's right, you know.
Having a favorite technique is retarded. You use the technique that works best given the situation.
Having a favorite camera effect and thinking that validates you as a cinema fan is like having a favorite letter of the alphabet and acting smug about it.
>>82182396
I agree with you OP.
I love seeing that shit.
I once watched this M/MtF porn scene where they did the dolly zoom on the guy when he realised the "sexy teen babysitter" had a dick instead of a vagina. It made the entire experience much better.
>How did they even think to move the camera while zooming out to get this effect?
