Having read the book I wish they put the U2 scene in the movie. Its a very significant scene and it gives a shred of depth to Bateman. Definitely gave me the American Psycho fix I needed.

i dont think the film was really lacking without it, but it would've been fun to have the scene where he's freaking out trying to order a milkshake in the kosher deli

Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

He got away with it because he has no identity, everyone looks like each other, mess up each other's names, have the same businesscards. It's a satire, they all are the same and try to differentiate one another with minor ridiculous things (my business card is slightly better than yours, my haircut is slightly better than yours) they were all the same and that's why Bateman had no identity and could get away with the killing. The entire story is one huge satire on the shallowness of corporate folks and yuppies.
