Call it whatever you want but it's a show about a hero and his hero buddies saving the world from bad guys. That's what I'd call capeshit. Only difference is that it's done really well. The formula for the fights was so good that it never changed and still worked every time.

Toriyama has always been of the opinion that Gohan, at his core, isn't a fighter like Goku. He has the potential to be the strongest in the universe, but every time Goku or Piccolo didn't force him to train he would always go back to his books and slack off.

I do hope he gets some kind of redemption in the Tournament of Power, I'm fine with Goku being the lead by Gohan has been cucked for too long, he deserves a win.
