What are some deeply horrific scenes in movies? I don't mean "scary" scenes from horror movies, I mean heartbreaking, tragic, or hurtful scenes?
>Scene where a beloved character is killed in an unfair or meaningless way
>Or things are brought to light in such a way that you cannot unsee them, and only wish for things to go back
>Scenes that left a deep impact on you and made you think about them negatively for a while afterward
The entirety of Requiem for a Dream
When I was 8 years old, Galaxy Quest came out. (That Star Trek parody starring Tim Allen.)
There's a scene in it with these cute little alien things, and one of them gets hurt. All the others seem to want to help it at first, but then all gang up on it and eat it.
It's funny looking back on it now, but that scene really fucked with me as a kid.

Bit weird to ask for spoilers but here's top 3 off the top of my head
>that scene in the wolf knife whenthe teacher molests the girl while she tells him the story of her friend losing her virginity but pretends it's her story
>that scene in bell diamond whenhis wife says she can't be with him because he can't have kids due to getting fucked up in the vietnam war and he cries because she tells him she knows it's not his fault but she can't be with him anyway
>that scene in wendy and lucy whenthe entire fucking film is just brootal
Can't think of anything right now but Johnny Got His Gun.
That last scene in children of men with the gunfire suddenly stopping was way too much for me. Sure it was beautiful, but I just didnt want to imagine humanity ever being reduced to such a state.

That part in Goodfellas wherethey make him watch them murder his brother and then kill him, too, before burying them togetheris sort of messed up.
