So this website is now effectively a distribution pipeline exclusively for the major media corporations to hype their content, right?
>movie trailers MUH MARVEL
>tv premiers MUH WALKING DEAD
>tv clips MUH COLBERT
>news clips MUH MADDOW
How did MSM conquer new media ?

What are you talking about? How is that different from trailers being uploaded to literally any other website?

By having mass appeal. It's pretty simple
Anyone else now get adverts for Youtube for the 5 second adverts?
I'm not complaining because it's better than "gay blogger" and "foreign lady" who I skip each and every time.

With the exception of the tranny, all those are extremely popular so it makes sense YouTube would market them the most. The masses love twd, marvel, and colbert
I honestly don't have a problem with it. YT is doing the right thing by removing bullies like RLM. I'll still be around. I'm also paid by Disney. I have a very good relationship with the mainstream media.
i actually just use it to watch last week tonight and samantha bee :^)

This was pretty much inevitable when Youtube became synonymous with online videos.
When you put all your eggs in one basket, it's going to be pretty damn easy for powerful groups to just buy that basket.
There will probably be some people who move off of Youtube and try to be successful on other platforms, but it's not going to work out. "Youtube" is literally identical to "online media" in most people's minds.
Not to mention net neutrality's death is just around the corner, which is going to inevitably let ISPs turn the internet into TV 2.0 - With Clicking This Time! The wild west is coming to a close.
