I'm given to understand it's about a black girl who creates a radio show whining about white people, like in The Warriors. Apparently she gets called out on it though so it's not like it's some pro-black propaganda, it examines both sides of the issue fairly. Only a little. The white people in the film are almost all dumb cartoon racists, and the main bitch never actually comes around to being a decent person. She just decides to quit literally broadcasting her racist rhetoric.

The movie is about a mixed raced girl who hates her white half because she blames it for always feeling like an outcast. White people reject her for being black while black people reject her for being white.

She creates a fake, very arrogant persona to shield herself from her pain, but that only further alienates everybody else and she ends up alone as no one can stand to put up with her bullshit.

It's actually a pretty funny movie about the absurdity of modern race relations in America. The title could just as easily be 'Dear White People or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love My White Half.'

My gears remain unground. I still liked the film overall, particularly the arcs of the dean's son and the reporter. But you are correct about many of my fellow white people being easily butt-flustered.
