When a demi-god gives you shit, you usually think it's going to be powerful. But the Elves didn't get their rings from Sauron, they were made without Sauron's help so they couldn't be controlled. Dwarfs lost a load of their rings and those that weren't lost just twisted the Dwarf's personalities (greed, stubbornness, apathy, vengeance etc). Only the 9 Ring's for the humans worked as intended.

Actually it goes 3>7>1>9 in the original text so you can go fuck yourself. Any variation of numbers can have false meaning if you rearrange them.

The only reason the LOTR movies exist is because Tolkien near the end of his life wanted a bunch of cash on hand for the extremely inheritance tax his kids would be forced to pay under the socialist Labour government at the time, so he sold the film rights for as much as he could get (I think 100K).

I'm rather not fond of those who don't analyze things on a case by case basis, which is unfortunately more common these days.
