After rewatching this I think I fell in love with it.

It's a flick for pseudo-intellectuals

Personally i loved it

real kino

Yeah it was pretty alright.
It takes a while to appreciate it.
I can get that some younger audiences might either love it for the wrong reasons (or because of some edgy themes) but it is a good film overall.
Also b-bump?

it's a genuinely shallow first project for a director, but it has enough going for it to make it fairly interesting.
The math/numerology stuff and the jew stuff is thrown together in a naive way with naive actors, to make a thriller. And this is perfectly fine, I can derive lots of pleasure from watching the movie. But let me also suggest that the movie is now also a minor pop-sci meme, which requires caution.
Similar films: Eraserhead, Begotten (esp. the extreme exposure-stuff, to totally remove grays and only have harsh blacks and whites).
I like the Go board stuff too, they make a nice little spiral in some shots.

If I could recommend another movie with a, dont wanna say similar, but a message of the same nature is: Stalker

Only seen it once
>1 The premise was cool as fuck, the black and white style and setting crazyness with camerawork was pretty sweet too, however I'd lost interest by the end and was kinda annoyed.
>I'm sure Good Will Hunting will be mentioned by now so I'll go with the very enjoyable Stranger Than Fiction, where a serious yet still fun Will Ferrell is a tax dude and explains to qt Zooey how tax works and how to avoid paying some.

I have no idea what I should get out of it. On a technical level, everything other than the acting and writing of the film is great, but I couldn't buy it. It didn't feel good. It's not that I don't like the style; except the grainy effect, I think the style is quite similar to few Shinya Tsukamoto films I've watched, which I have enjoyed.
I also kinda agree with >>81983900

Fucking yes I did nigga. It meets the criteria asked for OP in a roundbout kind of way. Also I can't remember any other movie with maths.

I dont know I guess I didnt really like StF
It has that Batman girl that was in Starwars episode 1 right?

I liked the cinematography. The writing was fucking garbage (as usual with Aronofsky). The directing is good technically, but hilariously over the top and pretentious (as usual with Aronofsky).
Dude should just make dumb action movies or horror movies. His attempts at "SRS ART" are fucking painful to behold. That or don't conceive movies. The Wrestler was fantastic when he was working from someone else's script.
He probably should have been the one directing Ghost In The Shell.
But yeah, it's kind of a lame movie, but it's beautiful to look at.
>>81987821
Maybe you just didnt get it?
>>81983900
Aye, the movie in itself is an erratic mess to where the excuse of it being thematically schizo on purpose won't even cut it. But then, the Go/Jew/Numerology stuff is neat enough subject matter to be carried by it regardless.
