Because it's fucking boring, Granted that I was 12 or 13 when I watched it in theaters. Everyone else also felt the same way. To this day my family brings it up for how boring it was. It's a slog of a film. Shame it took me more than one movie to realize that Malick is a hack. He'd rather paint a pretty picture with his camera than make anything resembling an entertaining movie.

Because The Tree of Life is better
