I thought it was an interesting start, very Kafkaesque.

S3 doesn't really have the charm or draw of the previous seasons, and the gimmick is starting to feel too gimmicky for me. Take the second scene, where the rich brother and his associate finish each others sentences. This just feels derivative of characters they've done before. Or how about the way it's revisiting the strong female cop trope? It's sort of like they've developed their own specific genre and now they just want to play within the confines of it, and I'm not sure I'm interested in playing along for another season.

I'm loving the themes in S3, granted it's only one episode in. Everything is about identity and what can become fact as evidenced by the opening vignette.

Not who you are responding to but I was also in a similar boat with writing. It sounds cliche but take the time you normally set aside for writing, and travel somewhere you have never been to. This can be a country, or as simple as down a sidewalk you've never bothered to walk because it was out of the way.

Then write about your experience. Not how someone would be interested in it, or the symbolism of what you did, but simply what you did and how it made you feel. Even if it's only one sentence.

It really is about writing what you know. And if what you know doesn't inspire you, take the time to know more first.
