Because you can cover up the new characters and that's ok, they're new, you don't expect anyone to recognize them. Harrison ford is very recognizable with half a face. Carries Fisher isn't as recognizable after all these years, but they spent the money to have her in the movie, so they use more of her face to sell it.

I haven't seen Force Awakens, why is this a big deal? Also why don't you wait until all three movies are out then just marathon them? They're just big budget tv at this point anyway.

So something can be near the field and not experience radiant heat, but once the field is disrupted by contacting something heat is conducted through it.

Which means considering Qui gin was able to melt a sizeable hole through a blast door in seconds, lightsaber wounds would be way more serious than depicted, charring flesh, boiling blood and setting people on fire with only the slightest contact.
