Cicero, Antony, his mother and others all think they can control him and he destroys them all. The three clips I posted are him destroying Cicero and the Senate, which Julius Caesar had spent the entire first season trying to bend to his will, the second is him bitch-slapping Antony, his mother and everyone else in the room, and finally him utterly wrecking Cleopatra.

He deliberately lets Antony decide how to split Rome and deliberately leads him into choosing the East of the Empire, while reminding Antony of all the reasons he wouldn't want to rule there. ancient Chinese history is one of the few time periods and places I just cant get into. Im not even sure why

I thought so too, until I watched it. The Three Kingdoms period is extremely interesting even though I have very basic knowledge on Chinese history and most of the things I know about the Three Kingdoms comes from the TV show. It truly made me interest in Chinese history and ever since I finished the show I've had it in the back of my mind to read more about it.

I still prefer Rome, Alexander the Great and most of Europe's history to it, but it's still interesting nevertheless.

Probably because it's intimidatingly long. It's not like Rome where you can center history on the one city and its civilization and everything sort of revolves around it because of the lack of written records from anyone around them at the time so it's still ALL ROME and only Rome's POV. Chinese history is rife with written records and even with the dynastic squabbles, it's so sprawling and complex, and made worse by the various breakups into multiple kingdoms that ALL have written records. It's almost too much information to reliably contain in a mind, extends for millennia, and is full of alien locations and naming conventions (like how they flip-flop given names and court names and shit) that make the whole mess super unwieldy unless you just choose to concentrate on specific chunks and ignore the rest of it. Chinese history honestly lacks a Mommsen.

Last Kingdomfags, a question: when they show the place names in gibberish and then translate them to their modern names, is the gibberish Old English or some other language? I confess being retarded that I don't know.

If I'm not mistaken most names were in Old English, like Oxenaforda. But some other might have been in Gaelic, bastardized Latin or Norse or whatever the Danes spoke at the time.

Yes. And Old English would look more like German/Dutch than to modern English.

They are also just how the names were written/called in those days, and might be of Celtic, Latin, Old English, or Norse origin.

For example
Londinium(Roman name) -> Lunden(Old English) -> London (Modern English
