idk what you mean. It's a "recording" taken from his memory that he turned into a hologram, they're just watching it.
If the technology actually existed, I guess the "recording" would be in first person view.

when he walks into the hologram it basically fades out.

would have been cooler if
A) he wasn't demonstrating it in front of random college kids
b) it factored into the plot later on instead of just being forgotten about

anyway...its stupid. If it was a hologram of his memory it would be in first person perspective.
