As for Kylo being a virgin, depends how long he was with Luke. From what I can tell they've been nomading around looking for Jedi artifacts since Kylo joined him.

The only way they can save this modern trilogy is if they are ballsy enough to do do a complete 180 with the characters.

Rey has to turn to the dark side, while Ren has to return to the light.

Po and Finn both have to be very subtly written out of the story (it doesn't really matter if they decide to paint them as gay, I don't live and die on those things) while Chewbacca, Leia, and to a lesser degree Luke, need to be willing to take a back seat.

The interesting parts of this universe are the Jedi and the Sith and the gray areas between them. If Star Wars isn't willing to go to those gray areas anymore, the series might as well be over.
